Conference Schedule


Weekly Colorectal Surgery Conference with colorectal staff and learners on service. Each week of the month features a different area of interest, including: 

  • Journal Club: The fellow and general surgery chief resident will co-host and lead discussion of a selected article, typically from Diseases of the Colon and Rectum, Annals of Surgery, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, or Colorectal Disease
  • IBD Conference: A clinical conference involving colorectal surgeons, adult and pediatric gastroenterology, and pediatric surgery. Cases are presented to optimize medical and surgical management of these diseases. Fellows are expected to participate in this conference through presentation and discussion of select cases that they have encountered. 
  • Pelvic Floor Conference: A review of patient's clinical presentation, MRI defecography studies, and treatment recommendations. 

Weekly multidisciplinary GI and Rectal Cancer Tumor Board where fellows participate, and present select cases that they have encountered. 

Weekly Surgery Grand Rounds provides surgeons, residents, and other attendees with up-to-date knowledge of surgical issues encountered in academic practice. The fellow will present one Grand Rounds lecture during the academic year. 

Weekly Surgery Morbidity and Mortality Conference in which fellows participate and present cases of the attending colorectal staff that they have participated in.
