The Plastic Surgery Call Schedule is a mix of general plastic surgery with facial and hand trauma call. As residents advance in their program years, they will take less call. Junior residents take most of the trauma calls.
Facial Trauma Call is taken every three days for acute facial trauma split with oral surgery and otolaryngology (ENT).
Hand Call is seven (7) days in a row every other week. It is split with Orthopaedic Surgery.
Night Float: When there are enough residents to cover daily resident services during the week of hand trauma call, a resident will be selected to be "on-call" during the night and stay home during the day with a back-up person on call in case of emergencies.
