Recruitment Events Timeline

There is an optional mixer event on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Although this event is optional, applicants are highly encouraged to attend.   The mixer provides applicants the opportunity to meet current residents in a casual setting. Applicant's spouses are welcome to attend. No faculty will be present at the Friday night mixer.

The interview day begins on Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. with breakfast at the Charles T. Wethington, Jr. Building.  After a brief introduction to the program by Sandra Beck, MD, General Surgery Residency Program Director, applicants will then relocate to the General Surgery offices for the interview portion of the day. At the conclusion of the interview sessions, residents will lead applicants on a tour of UK HealthCare's facilities.* Lunch will be provided and the interview day will conclude by 1:00 p.m.
*PLEASE NOTE: The facility tour involves a great deal of walking, so please bring appropriate footwear.
